The organizational structure is a pillar of the modernization of the Peruvian State, whose relevance lies in improving the quality of services offered by the various entities; therefore, it is the responsibility of public institutions to maintain a concise and effective structure for the achievement of their objectives. However, despite the presence of a regulatory framework, progress in its implementation in the entities has been limited. In this sense, the objective of this paper is to analyze the organizational structure and how it affects the service provided by a local government organization in the public sector. For this purpose, a review of scientific articles and bibliographic publications was carried out using descriptive methodology. This methodology made it possible to examine the organizational structure of public management, as well as the variations in its practices. Consequently, it is necessary to develop a vision and mission that is compatible with current circumstances. The culture of the organization should be focused on the improvement of all employees, establish standards and respect the policies that the organization considers relevant to improve the functioning of the organization. This leads to the consideration that, although efforts have been made, bureaucracy persists in some entities.
