Within the design of the RDNFO (Red Dorsal Nacional de Fibra Óptica), a large number of nodes have been placed in locations with very low security levels, leading to the need to protect the telecommunications rooms and the components specifically associated with these installations. Therefore, the MTC (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones) presented a project to enhance security at all nodes prone to theft and violence, especially in rural areas of the country, the consequences of which affect various types of services involving telecommunications equipment, whether due to the loss of coverage in the area, network communications for users in different regional areas, or the associated costs of replacing what was lost and repairing what was damaged. In this work, a macro security system with optical fiber is designed and developed for a region of the country as a solution to the MTC problem, which includes multiple subsystems. The use of video surveillance systems, alarm control systems and access control systems in the nodes is proposed, complemented with a Video Wall system and a centralized management system for each NOC (Network Operation Center) corresponding to the Access Network and to the Transport Network, each one supervising different numbers of nodes. Additionally, a network segmentation will be carried out between internal plant and external plant in each node and NOC through an internal communication system with optical fiber so that they can be interconnected with the entire network in the region.
