In this research work, a socio-environmental risk control is carried out for the prevention of social conflicts in the mining exploration project in northern Peru. This took place in the department of Amazonas, in the province of Bongará, specifically in the communities of Shipasbamba, Yambrasbamba and Cuispes. The methodology used in this study was an analysis of qualitative and quantitative data obtained through a questionnaire. This questionnaire was carried out with the purpose of knowing the perceptions of residents about mining activity and how this influences an exploration project. The data obtained in the field were processed with the help of Excel and SPSS software to obtain a clear and concise descriptive analysis. A simple correspondence analysis was carried out in the software to find a relationship between the study variables. In addition, a risk matrix used in previous studies was adapted in order to know the level of risk of the environmental impacts generated by the project. The results obtained show that the residents of the surrounding communities perceive that the exploration work carried out by the mining project impacts their communities, with dust, soil and water contamination being the most relevant. Furthermore, the little communication that exists between the company and the community is an important aspect for the generation of social conflicts. Finally, based on the findings, improvement alternatives are proposed for risk control and social management in the communities surrounding the greenfield projects.
