In Peru, there are approximately 250,000 companies, of which 80% face challenges in sustaining themselves and eventually close. Various reasons account for the early closure of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country, with some of the main factors being inadequate inventory management, a deficient procurement method, and a lack of knowledge about tools applicable to these issues. This leads many entrepreneurs to base their decisions on unreliable empirical methods. Experts point out that a primary challenge for the electrical-electronic sector, in terms of unforeseen costs and sales losses, lies in the inappropriate classification of inventories. For this reason, this professional sufficiency project focuses on the study of a specific case: the inadequate inventory management of an SME engaged in the marketing of electrical-electronic components in Lima. This study proposes a model aimed at increasing inventory turnover through the implementation of various management tools, such as Lean manufacturing and the ABC classification. The application of this model aims to achieve three main outcomes: firstly, to ensure periodic turnover of the company's stock; secondly, to regulate procurement management through a policy that prevents the generation of excess stock units; and thirdly, to enhance the logistical distribution of the warehouse. All of these actions are carried out with the objective of improving process efficiency and creating greater opportunities for SMEs in this sector.
