The activities of the mining industry harbor a series of dangers and risks that are continually addressed by mining companies by applying the hierarchy of controls focused on continuous improvement to provide a work environment that guarantees the well-being and health of employees; Despite this, the occurrence of accidents is a reality that has not yet been able to change in open pit and underground operations. This work focuses on the most important resource within mining activity, which is the workers. Unlike traditional investigations that focus on conditions or processes, this work seeks to identify the accident profile of workers who are associated with the occurrence of accidents in order to implement strategies that contribute to reducing incidents and work accidents. The investigation covers all collaborators of the contracting company classified by areas and role they perform as operational or supervisory personnel. The results of the application of the ACC-SYS model showed that 2% of the personnel are at a very high risk level and 27% presented a high risk level in the dimensions of reaction speed, responsibility and inner strength.
