The consistent rise in global part-time employment in recent years has resulted in a significant wage disparity between full-time and part-time workers, clearly highlighting a financial penalty imposed on those in part-time roles. This study aims to identify the primary factors influencing the wage gap between part-time and full-time workers, with a specific focus on gender in the Peruvian context. The research draws upon data from the National Household Survey (ENAHO) provided by INEI, encompassing the period from 2007 to 2022, employing Heckman's two-phase estimation method proposed in 1979. The findings obtained reveal that the primary driver of wage disparity between full-time and part-time workers lies in variations in their human capital attributes and occupational sectors.
