Entel Peru faced a crisis in the prepaid segment in 2021. As a response, the “Team Prepago Power“ campaign was launched with the aim of building a platform that could offer differentiation and foster a unique identity within this segment, as well as to reconnect with the Peruvian youth, who make up approximately 67% of the prepaid market. To achieve this, the brand took a risk by creating the first team of content creators, a group of five members with diverse interests, realities, and national reach. The brand allowed them to co-create content freely, respecting their style and giving them a level of prominence that no brand had offered before. The implementation led to a 1% increase in market share and a 5-point improvement in brand differentiation in the prepaid segment. The use of the creators' own language, a deep understanding of the market, and insight into the Peruvian youth cultivated a positive perception and strengthened the brand’s power. In conclusion, Entel established a long-term platform with a team of content creators who communicated authentically with the youth. The campaign demonstrated that effectiveness does not necessarily depend on novel offerings but on a creative strategy and media plan focused on the target audience. As a result, Entel achieved growth in market share and led the differentiation in the prepaid segment, surpassing its campaign recall and memorability goals.
