The present research work focuses on addressing a business case related to unethical behavior, as a critical issue in the field of human resources management within the organization. In this case, a scenario is identified where an employee of Cardiomed was simultaneously working for a competing company, leading to a significant decrease in sales and harm to the company's reputation. The research employs a case study approach for a detailed analysis of the causes and consequences of this situation, utilizing research tools such as data collection, in-depth interviews, and document review, among others. The current issue is examined alongside the solutions evaluated and implemented by the target company, such as the introduction of exclusivity and confidentiality clauses in contracts, the inclusion of psychological assessments in the selection process, and the hiring of an external mentor. Furthermore, additional alternatives are proposed to address the problem, with a focus on prevention and early intervention in similar situations. The strategic significance of addressing this problem lies in its direct impact on Cardiomed's productivity, reputation, and customer trust. Ultimately, this research aims to promote the adoption of ethical behavior by individuals, which plays a crucial role in talent management within businesses. This, in turn, contributes to strengthening the integrity and reputation of the company, as well as facilitating the achievement of strategic objectives in a highly competitive market.
