The objective of the research was to carry out soil improvement in the Construction of the Tres Estrellas Hotel in the Central Urban Area of the Chimbote district, Province of Santa, Department of Ancash. The importance of the study guarantees a correct foundation system, this will prevent the settlement of the soil under static loads in CM+CV service condition. The soil mechanics study determined the type of soil, this is poorly graded sand with the presence of silt (SP-SM), its appearance is dark beige. Therefore, the technique of compacted aggregate piles is proposed for solutions and to improve the type of soil described, by which the foundation settlements of the structure will be controlled, in addition to giving the soil the necessary bearing capacity. Furthermore, this technique is very effective and widely used in projects with the same conditions. Also, the stone columns technique is proposed in the project. This consists of improving the ground by resisting the soil with vibration or by displacing the soil to a previously designed distance to compact the stone. This technique accelerates the soil consolidation process by draining the soil through stone columns. The columns are composed solely of stone, which allows drainage, accelerating consolidation and reducing settlement. Finally, a comparison was made between the two mentioned techniques. The admissible improvement method for this project has an elastic modulus of 19221t/m^2, volume of aggregate for the improvement of 213.16m^2 and spacing between columns of 1.9m.
