This research work focuses on the proposal for safe road design focused on cyclists at an intersection. According to statistical data, it is known that there was an increase in the ownership of bicycles in Peru in the last three years, due to the pandemic. That is why the Municipality will enable temporary bike lanes to provide accessibility alternatives to cyclists. However, this caused an increase in accidents involving cyclists. That is why a cycle path was chosen where there has been a history and is prone to having more accidents. It was proposed to carry out an analysis of the intersection of Canada Avenue and Nicolas Arriola Avenue, to understand the conflicts between motorized vehicles and cyclists. For that we have to do a data research to know the reality intersection and to obtein the real data for the vehicle capacity. In addition, three redesigns of the intersection are proposed to reduce the conflicts found. These redesigns are based on the bicycle box and the protected intersection. These redesigns are placed in a micro simulation program to determine the decrease in conflicts. The results will be that the bike box proposal presents a positive result since it will reduce conflict points by 25% while the design based on protected intersection does not influence the reduction of conflict points.
