In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic had a detrimental impact on the Peruvian education system, leading to over 350,000 students transitioning from private to public schools due to economic challenges. Innova Schools, an educational network with 63 campuses in Peru, experienced a 27% student dropout rate and launched a customer recovery campaign for the 2021 school year. The objective was to bring back 4,388 students who had withdrawn, constituting a 34% recovery goal. The strategy revolved around the creation of a campaign called Innova Conecta, which focused on deeply understanding the needs and concerns of parents and students. Employing branded content, the campaign was executed across various channels relevant to the target audience. While the 34% commercial target was not entirely achieved, the campaign proved highly effective. Contact was established with 3,394 families interested in returning, of which 77% ultimately enrolled their children for the year 2021. This marked a significantly higher conversion rate than the regular admission rate of 6.5%. Innova Schools set a precedent by using branded content to reconnect with families and foster brand affinity. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, this innovative strategy proved valuable in engaging parents and motivating students to return to school. This pioneering approach suggests that branded content can be a powerful tool for educational institutions in building connections with families and fostering brand loyalty.
