Digital Financial Inclusion (DFI) is a topic that has become more relevant as a result of how technological disruptions, such as cell phones and the internet, which are increasingly present in the life of the average individual, can be leveraged in favor of access to and use of financial services. Therefore, this research analyzes the impact of technology, measured through the use of a cell phone and internet, and other sociodemographic characteristics on DFI for Latin American and Caribbean countries using the Global FINDEX database for the year 2021 applying logistic regression with the maximum likelihood estimator as methodology. Thus, one of the main findings of this research is the positive and significant impact of cell phone use and Internet access at the individual level.
