This article examines the relationship between export modes (non-exporting, indirect exporting, and direct exporting), financial constraints, and productivity, with a particular focus on the Peruvian context. The importance of exports for economic growth is emphasized, acknowledging notable challenges, especially in developing countries like Peru. The research delves into the strategic decisions of companies seeking expansion through exports, with a specific focus on access to financing and productivity levels. Differences in their impact among Peruvian micro, small, medium, and large enterprises are evaluated, highlighting a positive impact of financial constraints on micro and small enterprises and a negative impact on medium and large enterprises. Meanwhile, productivity does not prove to be significant. Additionally, the study analyzes how the probabilities of choosing an export mode change in the presence or absence of financial constraints, considering different levels of productivity.
