The main objetive of this study is to improve the production times of the labor force of steel formwork for beams and slabs in fast track - retail type projects. This improvement will be determined using productivity tools: First Run Study and Carta Balance. First of all, we analyze the reasons for the delays in this type of building, and we conduct interviews with engineers and production workers, who limit the research to the activity of formwork and stripping of metal formwork of horizontal elements. With this, we proceed to the measurements applying the methods of analysis mentioned in this process, information is collected to determine the anomalies that occur in the stages of the task; and with this evaluated data, improvements are proposed with a flow chart, applying control strategies and redesign for each type of irregularity that is detected. This research has as an important limitation, the implementation of the proposal presented, due to the confinement by the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of 2020. Therefore, this new plan of action had to be validated by an expert opinion, by a series of professional engineers with a recognized guarantee in the construction industry; they confirm that the optimization and improvement resulting from this new contribution ranges between 20% for beam formwork and 25% for slab formwork. Therefore, they affirm that the performance is optimized, offering solutions that can be adopted to reverse a deficient process.
