This research work is focused on determining the solution proposal that allows mitigating the high costs of conventional modules used in temporary construction camps. In this context, the company Cipresa, with twenty years of experience in the field of camps, presents the Dome Modules, as an innovative alternative that meets the necessary quality and comfort requirements. Therefore, the research focused on carrying out a comparative cost analysis between conventional modules (prefabricated, panelized and container) and dome-type modules, in order to identify which is the most beneficial in economic terms. To this end, a scope of enabling a temporary camp has been defined at the UM Bateas, Arequipa, and under this scenario, an economic analysis of quotes from various suppliers in the sector has been carried out. The evaluation occurred at three levels, cost at the project level, cost at the supply, transportation and installation level, and cost at the specific module level. From the analysis it was obtained that dome-type modules are the most beneficial in economic terms compared to conventional ones, achieving a saving of almost 50% in the provision of the temporary camp at the total project level. In addition, savings of 52% in supply, 32% in transportation and 45% in installation were obtained compared to conventional ones. Finally, at a specific level, it was obtained that the cost ratio of dome modules was 162.75 $/m2 compared to conventional type modules, which on average was 436.62 S/m2.
