The present research work comprises an analysis of the current conditions existing at the intersection between Elmer Faucett Avenue and De Los Precursores Avenue located in the district of San Miguel, province and department of Lima. The main focus of the research work was the redesign of the current intersection to an innovative Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection. The research begins with a general description of the problem at the intersection, which is vehicular traffic due to left-turning vehicles traveling from a primary to a secondary roadway. Also, due to the magnitude of the intersection, the drone methodology was proposed to obtain the geometric data and, simultaneously, to obtain the total vehicular flow, which was 5179 vehicles during rush hour. This data obtained will be entered into the Vissim software to be modeled and later calibrated and validated. This will be done so that the modeling will be as close as possible to the actual situation. The queue length and vehicle delay obtained from the calibrated and validated intersection of the current situation were 20.59 m and 21.94 s respectively. Therefore, the innovative RCUT intersection is proposed, which obtained a vehicle delay of 15.67 s and a queue length of 12.67 m, reducing 28.58% and 38.47% respectively.
