Confined masonry in Peru is one of the most used construction systems, given its practicality for the construction of homes mainly. Given that it is an important aspect in the country's engineering, this work has been focused on evaluating the changes made to the E.070 Masonry standard, considering the current version of the standard, approved in 2006 with its proposed version, developed in the year 2022. To do this, a 4-story building, with a multi-family function, was evaluated with the current seismic design, applying the ETABS modeling software; With this, a confined masonry wall of the structure was analyzed, using both documents to determine the variation that exists when comparing both cases. As a result, it was obtained that the calculation values were higher in the case of the current standard, compared to the proposed standard E.070 Masonry. Likewise, it was observed that the concrete and steel sections, applying both regulatory documents, were larger for the current standard compared to the proposed standard. Finally, when evaluating the amounts of the two cases analyzed, it was observed that the value was slightly higher when using the proposed standard than when using the current standard. Likewise, in the work a comparison was made between the changes found between the two documents considered for this study.
