This thesis presents a comprehensive investigation on the stormwater gutter design system in the city of Huancayo, addressing critical challenges in rainwater management in urban environments. A detailed analysis of the current situation of roofing and drainage infrastructure was performed, followed by an accurate characterization of the design storms in the region. Additionally, local regulations related to the design of roof gutters and urban drainage systems were reviewed. The study included the evaluation of a specific gutter design using technical and regulatory criteria, confirming its effectiveness and long-term viability. Key recommendations were made, including the implementation of efficient gutters, rigorous regulatory compliance, and promoting community awareness for proper maintenance of drainage systems. In addition, a sustainable storm drainage model was proposed that integrates innovative technologies and ecological practices, contributing to urban resilience and environmental protection. This study not only provides practical solutions to drainage problems in Huancayo, but also establishes a solid foundation for future research in the field of water management in urban environments. The investigation concludes with a design of gutters for a total average corrected precipitation of 54.24 mm, on a typical house with a 100 m2 floor plan, with the design calculation of the average cross section being 35.34 cm², all verified using the HCanales software.
