This Professional Sufficiency Work (TSP) addresses the proposal to improve the collection process of a distributor and marketer of mass consumption products in the northeastern area of Peru. The objective of this study is to analyze and propose the most suitable alternative solution to the problem related to economic losses in the collection process by staff. As a solution, the implementation of the Internal Control Strengthening Program based on the theoretical model of the Internal Control System (COSO III) is proposed. This academic research work contains three chapters. In the initial part, the context, description and problematic situation of the organization are presented. In the second part, the theoretical-conceptual framework is developed, the background of the research is presented and the justification of the chosen problematic situation is provided. In the last chapter, the strategic alternatives are comparatively analyzed through the Solution Alternative Selection Matrix and the chosen proposal is justified through the Balance Scorecard. This case study has a descriptive scope and for its development, information was collected through interviews and content analysis. Finally, the impact of the selected alternative promotes the culture of internal control in the management of the processes of the entire organization, the commitment and improvement of the operational efficiency of the collaborators, the reduction of risk in the collection process and the protection of the assets.
