China, a leading country in steel-metal exports, is suffering from territorial and political disputes due to the pandemic that affect companies in this sector. In this context, CUMIC STEEL, a trading company dedicated to steel, is experiencing difficulties in closing contracts given the lower availability of credit as a payment facility for buyers. Among these, Latin America shows a lower culture of uncertainty and long-term forecasting, which increases suspicion in buying and selling. Therefore, it seeks to design a strategic approach that facilitates the formalization of export contracts by CUMIC STEEL. Through a qualitative approach, the problem tree and a diagnostic table were used to identify other causes and symptoms of these difficulties. This highlights poor business communication, limited tools in international sales, strict business policies, among other factors. Alternative solutions were proposed such as forward vertical integration, to make the product visible and increase proximity to customers, and the application of international pre-sales through business software, to optimize sales by streamlining sales processes and taking advantage of the most favorable periods for compliance. Finally, after the interview with an expert, and evaluating its feasibility and viability, the second proposal was chosen, given the affordable cost, its application versatility, and the expected benefit. It is concluded that, by streamlining processes that provide pre-selection data to enable pre-sales on credit, it is possible to increase the number of contracts concluded.
