This study focuses on the analysis of resistance to technological change in a private clinic in Lima. The adoption of new technologies, particularly the implementation of electronic health records, has posed challenges and faced resistance. These barriers are attributed to factors such as lack of training, communication problems, and cultural differences in the clinical setting. A qualitative approach has been used in the research, based on interviews with doctors who work as outpatients in the clinic. The authors consider it crucial to examine the factors that contribute to resistance to change with respect to electronic health records. Three alternatives were identified to address this resistance: improving staff training, refining internal communications, and encouraging constant feedback. After evaluating these alternatives, improved training was chosen as the main strategy to overcome resistance to change. As a result, the need to implement in-house training programs that will not entail additional costs was recognized. This approach will overcome the challenges associated with resistance to technological change and promote the effective adoption of electronic medical records in Lima's private clinic.
