The investigation focuses on Olivos Maquinarias, an importer of the marine sector, specialized in the commercialization of engines and spare parts of the Weichai brand. Currently, the company faces a challenge of overstocking of spare parts for Weichai marine engines. This excess inventory was caused by empirical purchases and deficiencies in merchandise tracking by the purchasing and warehouse area. To address this problem, a quantitative and qualitative methodology has been carried out, as it combines an exhaustive analysis of warehouses and their operations, with the intention of identifying critical areas that require improvements. For this reason, it is proposed to implement Lean Warehousing or an ERP system to improve its positioning in the sector and reduce overstock. After a detailed analysis of the company's resources and viability, it was determined that the Lean Warehousing approach best aligns with the objectives and offers positive results based on its implementation in other companies. The methodology will focus on the reorganization of warehouses, using tools such as 7´s, ABC classification and layout, in order to effectively manage inventory and control critical areas of the logistics chain. This strategy is expected to reduce excess inventory, optimize the supply chain and improve the company's profitability. The implementation of Lean Warehousing is projected as a comprehensive solution to improve the operational and competitive efficiency of the company in the marine sector.
