In the last 30 years, landslides have been a recurring issue on the slopes and cliffs that make up the Costa Verde in the Magdalena del Mar district. Despite efforts to install containment elements such as geogrids to mitigate material falls, the need to stabilize these slopes in order to preserve the safety of pedestrians on the Costa Verde circuit has yet to be fully addressed. To address this need, the present study has developed a battery of shotcrete mixes as an alternative to the available stabilization techniques to solve the landslide problem. Nine shotcrete mix designs were prepared in the laboratory with water/cement (w/c) ratios of 0.35, 0.40, and 0.45; GU, HS, and V types of cement; contents of 370 kg/m3, 420 kg/m3, and 470 kg/m3; an initial flow range of 8“ to 9“; and a polypropylene fiber content of 4 kg/m3. After analyzing the results in both fresh and hardened states, the shotcrete mix containing HS type cement and a water/cement ratio of 0.40 is established as the best alternative in terms of flowability, setting time, unit weight, compressive strength, and flexural strength. Subsequently, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted based on the optimal shotcrete mix design with a water/cement ratio of 0.40 and HS type cement content of 420 kg/m3, resulting in a unit cost of shotcrete projection of S/ 694.09/m3 and a final application cost of S/141.45/m2. In conclusion, all shotcrete designs with a water/cement ratio of 0.35 and types of cement I, HS, and V showed better behavior in terms of flowability, with the optimal mix being the one with type V cement and a flow loss of ½“/hour. Regarding setting time, the most optimal designs, due to their lower times, were those with a water/cement ratio of 0.40 and types of cement I, HS, and V, with the best performance being achieved with type V cement, with an initial setting time of 5h 02min and final setting time of 7h. On the other hand, shotcrete designs that showed higher 1-day strength were those with a water/cement ratio of 0.40, with a value of up to 295.16 kg/cm2 for GU type cement. And all mixes containing HS cement achieved higher flexural strength values compared to GU and V type cements, reaching a value of up to 93.86 kg/cm2 for a water/cement ratio of 0.35. In terms of costs, the technique of projecting the shotcrete mix with HS type cement and a water/cement ratio of 0.40 was more competitive than other slope stabilization systems analyzed, being between 13% and 559% more profitable.
