Infrastructure is crucial for economic growth according to literature and policy makers (Calderón & Serven, 2010). However, Peru and Latin America face problems of infrastructure gaps that translate into a limitation for development. Therefore, this research seeks to quantify the impact of economic infrastructure (telecommunications, transportation and energy) on the economic growth of the departments of Peru. To do this, an endogenous growth model proposed by Straub (2008) is used that includes the infrastructure stock. In addition, an econometric estimation is carried out using a panel data model from 2004 to 2019. The results indicate that with an increase of 1 p.p in the telecommunications, energy and transportation infrastructure, the gross domestic product increases 0.43 p.p, 4,906 p.p and 1,935 p.p respectively. Likewise, according to the impulse response functions, telecommunications and energy infrastructure have a positive and significant impact on economic growth. Finally, it is recommended that the State place emphasis on using investment in telecommunications and energy infrastructure as an instrument to boost the economy and close existing gaps.
