This thesis considered the effect of unpaved roads on the Peruvian Road Network, which comprises 143,402.40 km as of 2022, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC. The main purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of the diagnostic methodologies of the condition of unpaved roads using the URCI and MTC procedures on the Puente Bedoya - San Pedro de Huancha road, located in the district of Olleros, province of Huaraz, region Ancash. The methodology used was of applied type, with a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional descriptive level, and a non-experimental field design. The population studied was the AN-788 / AN-740 route, 5 km long, and the sample consisted of ten sections of 0.50 km for the MTC method and two sections of 1 km with a section of 81 m for the URCI method. Document review and direct observation techniques were used, registration forms were used as instruments, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. From the results of both proposed methodologies, it was obtained that the average condition index with the MTC method was 103.92, which corresponds to a bad level, while with the URCI method it was 69.50, which represents a good level. When contrasting both results of the evaluated sections, a significance of 0.000 was obtained, which shows a significant difference. It is inferred that the condition of the road is bad according to the MTC method and good according to the URCI method, being the latter the most reliable to define the type of intervention needed on unpaved roads.
