In Peru, due to the insufficient investment made by the State, a deficiency arose in the health service at the national level. The establishments of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and the Regional Governments did not have medicines for the treatment of diseases, consequently, the population chose to acquire them in private pharmacies. The pharmaceutical sector played a very important role in the face of the health crisis that will be due to COVID-19 Sociedad de Comercio Exterior del Perú [ComexPerú], 2020). The research consists of analyzing COSO ERM 2017 and the impact on the inventories of pharmaceutical companies in Metropolitan Lima, which will be developed in each chapter. The research will be carried out in an explanatory manner using a non-experimental correlational cross-sectional approach, for the analysis of the independent variable without being manipulated with the dependent variable. The methodology used is mixed, qualitative and quantitative, based on interviews and surveys with experts. To exemplify the impact of COSO ERM 2017 on inventories, a case study was developed in a pharmaceutical company where risks and response were evaluated. The results obtained showed the deficiencies of the processes related to inventories. Therefore, responses were proposed based on the COSO ERM 2017 and it is concluded that the manual provides support and influences in a relevant way the fulfillment of the mitigating business objectives risks appropriately and fostering a culture focused on fraud prevention for optimal results.
