Background: For years, various proposals for food baskets have been developed, but these have focused on meeting energy needs and have not comprehensively addressed a healthy diet. Objective: To determine the price of a monthly healthy food basket (CMAS in Spanish) in districts with high monetary poverty in Lima Metropolitana, 2022. Methodology: Descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in three stages: 1) collection of food prices at markets in Independencia, Carabayllo, and Villa Maria del Triunfo during March 2022, 2) development of a healthy menu recommendation for a nuclear household with children based on energy, macronutrient, and iron requirements, and 3) calculation of the composition and price of the CMAS. Results: The phases and methodology were established to update the CMAS price in other periods and contexts. A monthly healthy menu recommendation was developed for the most common type of household in the selected districts, and the composition of the CMAS was determined based on this. Finally, the calculated price of the CMAS was 918.67 soles, which is equivalent to 98.8% of the minimum wage for an individual on the date when the prices were collected. Conclusions: In a household receiving two minimum wages, the price of the CMAS represents almost half of the income. Additionally, the methodology developed in this research can be replicated and adapted to different contexts and periods of time. Likewise, a proposal for a monthly healthy menu is presented.
