This study examines user interface (UI) content in Peruvian educational gamification for board games with Inca themes. The hypothesis holds that Inca themed board games present iconography, characters, and representative elements of the Inca culture and are reflected in the game components. For its verification, a documentary analysis of select Inca themed board games was carried out: Quipu, Tawantinsuyu-The Inca Empire, Empire of the Sun and Catán The rise of the Incas. The games were analyzed for characteristics, traits, properties, and qualities in relation to the Peruvian Inca theme. In addition, interviews were conducted with specialists regarding the creation of board games, the UI process, gamification, art history, and anthropology, thereby their opinions could be discussed. It was found that gamification in board games is an educational methodology to motivate and engage users to increase interest and foster better understanding of the story subject. In addition, the UI is guided by the reward systems and rules through game mechanics. The Inca themed designs are presented through the iconography used in components and aesthetics of the games. In conclusion, for the board games reviewed, elements from a mixture of cultures such as Andean, pre-Hispanic and pre-Columbian from different regions of Peru were included, so the color palette and iconography are not exactly correct.
