With the constant problem of the objectification and minimization of women in the video game industry, this study proposes to analyze the perceptions, regarding the representation of gender violence from the narrative of Detroit Become Human, in a group of the Lima gamer community. A case study was chosen as the qualitative approach to this work and through the realizations of virtual focus groups, which were divided into men and women, impressions were collected respecting violent acts against female characters and the identification they may feel when visualizing these scenarios. The results indicated that there is no clear acceptance of gender-based violence, especially in the male group. In addition, it was found that the female group has a better position towards the problem when going through an experience similar to the facts, whether personal or close to them. In this way, it is concluded that video games can be a useful tool to start spreading awareness about gender violence, but that it is still necessary to work on it.
