In 2018, the health ministry reported that more than 50% of the Peruvian population suffers from obesity. Metropolitan Lima has 40% of people affected with this disease. In addition, a report from “diario gestion“ that says that on average, each Peruvian citizen consumes 52 kg of ultra-processed food per year. These alarming figures show that a change in the lifestyle of Lima's citizens is necessary. It is necessary to make people aware of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, this implies improving their eating habits and doing sports. Given the increase in people with health problems caused by poor diet, the manufacture of healthy products, such as nut butters, must be natural, without added sugar, hydrogenated oils, chemical additives or preservatives. Nuts belong to the group of energy foods, their consumption provides great health benefits and helps fight obesity. It is a rich source of protein and healthy fat, provides energy, contains vitamins and antioxidants, among other benefits. In addition, it is suitable for vegetarians, vegans, celiacs and diabetics. That is why the manufacture and sale of artisan nut butters is a business opportunity in Lima. To demonstrate this, the Lean Start-up methodology was used, in which, through the development of minimum viable products, it demonstrated the viability of the project. The project management bases according to the Project Management Institute (PMI) were used to guide its development, as well as digital marketing tools to make the products known to the target market.
