The purpose of this research is to establish the potential association between the perceived stress and the emotional intelligence in cadets from the navy’s school from Perú. The participants for this research were in total 323 cadets from their first year, to the fifth year in the Navy School. The measure instruments used were the Emotional Intelligence Scale of Wong-Law, adapted by Merino, et al. (2016), and the Global Perception Scale of Stress adapted by Guzmán-Yacaman and Reyes-Bossio (2018). In general, there is a moderated and positive co-relation between the positive factor of perceived stress and the dimention of rating and expression of the owned emotions (.333), there is also a co-relation of positive stress and the dimension of rating and identification of the emotions of others (.219), and finally a co-relation between the positive stress and the dimention of the use of emotions to improve the performance (.317). It is concluded that while there is a high score in some of the emotional intelligence factors, there is mostly positive stress shown.
