In this thesis work, the North Panamericana highway, Av. Habich - Ancón section, is evaluated in terms of the design of the metallic support structure and the foundation of the informative signs. The road under study is one of the most relevant in the province of Lima, as it is a 1st-order road and because it presents critical conditions of high traffic, type of soil, and difficulty in installing metal support structures. The problem lies in a lack of analysis for the definition of the design of the metallic support structure and foundation, which is specific and according to the conditions of the work area, mainly due to the little relevance given to this design in the technical files for the execution of work that are prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The research level is descriptive and explanatory because it will use theoretical knowledge and become practical knowledge to improve the useful life of informational signs by optimizing the design. For the development of the thesis and previous evaluation in the office, the collection of field data has been carried out, by means of pits for soil exploration in the locations of the informational signs under more critical conditions, then identify and perform the analysis of the parameters of design such as dimension, metal frame type, dead load, live load, wind load, truck-induced gust, earthquake load, and soil type. The analysis of the metallic support structure was carried out using SAP 2000 software and spreadsheets for the foundation. As a result, the proposed parameter matrix for the design of metal support structures and foundations for informational signs is presented.
