This research paper presents the results of an exhaustive bibliographical review whose objective is to identify the positions of the authors on the effects of natural disasters on the supply chain. The inquiry was developed from a qualitative approach. The type of study is descriptive and its design is documentary, since the structure is based on the analysis of research journals from quartiles 1 and 2. During the review, three central problems in supply chains during natural disasters were identified. : the magnitude of the financial impact, the reactivation time of the operations and the form of restitution of the operations of each company. In the analysis of the research articles, it was found that the authors differ regarding the effects of natural disasters on the supply chains of companies. One group argues that the main effect is in finance, while others state that the effect is manifested in the turnaround time of supply chains. Another group of authors proposes that the most important effect is produced in the way in which the chain is restored. The great result constitutes that, most of the authors maintain that the most relevant effect is the financial one, since it can determine the survival of companies, both large and small, in the market.
