Concrete is one of the most used materials due to its mechanical properties and low need for maintenance; however, in marine environments, its durability is affected by various pathologies caused by salts and humidity. Within this framework, the need to increase resistance to salts is a challenge that still remains and, above all, when it must be adapted to the new environmental demands of construction, since it is one of the most polluting sectors of the atmosphere, especially, due to the generation of CO2 that concrete produces annually, which has encouraged the search for types of concrete that are friendlier to the environment and ecological additives that improve their properties. Therefore, this research work evaluates the use of beet fibers in an architectural concrete exposed to salts; For this, mixture designs have been made adding proportions of 1%, 3% and 5% of beet fibers with respect to the weight of the cement, this with the objective of carrying out tests of resistance to compression, traction, permeability and penetration of chlorides, at the same time, a pull-out test was carried out to study the concrete-steel adherence and, finally, a plastic contraction test. The results obtained show that the addition of beet fibers favors the characteristics of architectural concrete, increasing its mechanical strength and resistance to chlorides, as well as improving its adherence to steel and reducing the percentage of cracks, properties that also counteract the effect of salts.
