This professional sufficiency work focuses on designing and implementing an innovative proposal to develop autonomy and critical thinking in pre-kindergarten students at a private school in Lima Metropolitana. To support the proposal, a literature search was conducted on socio-emotional development, critical thinking, autonomy, and diversified achievements. For the diagnosis, tools and techniques from “design thinking“ were used. In addition, instruments such as checklists and individual interviews were applied to get to know the users and propose the design of the innovation project. The goal of this project is for the student to be able to explain their academic progress, demonstrating autonomy and critical thinking by recognizing their strengths, weaknesses, and decision-making. This project consisted of three stages: Adaptation, diversified achievements, and feedback to parents. For this professional sufficiency work, the first stage was executed, in which it was concluded that students are more motivated to achieve their academic goals when they perceive that they are capable of operating autonomously. In conclusion, this project represents an innovative and empowering vision for the educational institution in the development of autonomy and critical thinking in young children. This proposal positions students as the center and empowers them as analysts and evaluators of their own learning process.
