The purpose of this research is to give added value to wastewater, addressing the problem of the scarcity of drinking water for the production of concrete in the city of Tacna, through the “Evaluation and influence of the reuse of wastewater effluents of the Southern Cone WWTP for High Performance Concrete (CAD) of f'c=280 kg/cm2 in moderate exposure to Sulfates made with Pozzolanic Cement in the district of Gregorio Albarracín in the city of Tacna”. The Cono Sur Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR Cono Sur) is one of the 2 plants located in the city of Tacna and has two pairs of primary and secondary biological treatment lagoons; It is located to the south of the city on the way to the Peruvian sea coast, and if it is not reused, it is lost in the ocean, generating an environmental impact. The WWTP is fed by wastewater drained from the central, northern and eastern cones of the city. For the development of the investigation, a chemical analysis was carried out on the residual waters of the WWTP Cono Sur through tests to determine their amounts of Chlorides, Sulfates, Alkalis and Total Solids by mass, as a requirement of mixing water quality. Then, it is determined that there is a higher concentration of Sulfates above the acceptability limit according to ASTM C1602. It was decided to use a combined water between drinking water and wastewater from the Southern Cone WWTP that is within its acceptability limits and for a moderate exposure of Sulfates according to the “E.060 Reinforced Concrete“ standard; as a durability requirement for the production of High Performance Concrete (CAD). For the concrete mix designs, a standard mix and an experimental mix were prepared. The concretes were designed with Type IP pozzolanic cement (Yura brand). As a concrete performance requirement, compression resistance tests, initial and final setting time were carried out. Finally, it was determined that the experimental mixing water, reusing residual water from the Cono Sur WWTP in concrete, is accepted as an alternative for its use in concrete by international standards IS 456 (India); AS 1379 (Australia); ASTM C94 (USA); and EN 1008 (Spain).
