Social media have generated pressure for an ideal of beauty, subjecting adolescents, who have been more influenced, since they are in a period of transition and restructuring of their identity. The sample consisted of 203 women between the ages of 13 and 17 from the third to fifth year of high school from private schools in Lima. The type of study was correlational and quantitative, since it seeks to carry out measurements in a systematic way. As a result, it is obtained that, by presenting a greater influence of advertising, social situations, verbal messages and anguish over the image, there is less satisfaction, presence of suffering and less joy in living. It can be concluded that social media have imposed a thin body as an ideal of beauty, which is reflected in the perception of adolescents about their own body, influencing their own subjective well-being.
