Objectives: To determine compliance of immediate postpartum control (IPC) and, at the same time, identify its associated factors. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional and analytical study was carried out from of the data of the 2019 “Encuesta Demográfica y de Salud Familiar” (ENDES). The dependent variable was compliance with the CPI (before 2 hours) in women aged 15 to 49 who had a childbirth in the last five years preceding the survey. The evaluation of the association between the sociodemographic variables and compliance with the CPI was calculated through crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (PR) and their 95% confidence intervals using a generalized linear model of the family and log Poisson link option. Results: Data from 12,636 women were analysed. 57.59% had compliance with the CPI. Most of the women lived in urban areas. Sociodemographic and newborn (NB) health factors such as belonging to the fifth wealth quintile and mothers who had low birth weight newborns increased the probability of complying with a IPC. While living in the highlands and jungle, rural areas and women with a scholar level of education or higher decreased the probability of having a IPC. Conclusions: 4 out of 10 women did not comply with the ICP. From this, strategies must be worked on to improve access to IPC in all health centers in Peru, regardless of the sociodemographic factors of the population.
