Fresh grapes have become one of the most demanded fruits worldwide, where Peru has managed to position itself as the third largest exporter worldwide in the period 2017-2021 (TRADE MAP, 2021). This thanks to its great nutritional value and its organoleptic characteristics, such as the different presentations (fresh grape varieties), flavor and texture. Likewise, in the period 2017-2021, Peruvian exports of fresh grapes grew at a very positive average rate, by 19%, reflecting an increase of 102% in favor compared to 2017 with the year 2021, ranking also in the year 2021 as the top exporting country of fresh grapes (Portalfruticola.com, 2022). On the other hand, the Ica Region represented the most influential region in the export success of fresh grapes nationwide in the period 2017-2021, with a participation of 46.6% of the total exported value (ADEX, 2022), reaching growth average of 16.9% in terms of exported levels of fresh grapes, reflecting 5% more compared to the five years preceding the period mentioned since Ica. The main destination market abroad is the United States, given that the existence of an agreement between the two countries allowed for good negotiations and this is reflected in the increase in the value of exports. Due to the above, the purpose of this study is to determine if there is a relationship between the productive innovation applied by companies that export fresh grapes from the Ica Region and their export performance during the period 2017-2021, taking into account the following dimensions: Product innovation, process innovation and technology innovation, obtained from various research documents, cited in the epistemological background and detailed in the consistency matrix and the operationalization matrix. This research work has a mixed approach, with the independent variables “Productive Innovation“ and the dependent variable “Exporter Performance“, with a descriptive-correlational design, since its objective is to identify the relationship between the two variables mentioned above. Where innovation from a scientific perspective allows us to distinguish what is possible from what is illusory, thus recognizing the dangers and risks. Likewise, for the present study, research is understood as those changes or substantial improvements in the productive processes from the edges of the product, process and technology in agricultural productive development. On the other hand, the qualitative analysis was carried out through in-depth interviews with specialists in the sector, public and private organizations, and making up 14 experts. The information was collected using the Atlas Ti 22 software. In the same way, the quantitative technique was used through virtual surveys with Likert scales to 31 fresh grape agro-exporting companies in the Ica Region, where the results achieved were evaluated in the software. IBM SPSS Statistics 28. It should be noted that these techniques allowed us to validate the hypotheses of this study, as well as to identify the dimensions that are linked to export performance.
