Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the mining sector have certain peculiarities due to their complexity and the lack of management processes necessary to obtain the best performance in their main activity. However, these management activities are essential to develop effective strategies and achieve the fulfillment of the objectives. In today's business environment, it is necessary to respond flexibly and effectively at all times in order to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Therefore, the objective of this study is to apply Strategic Management through the Balanced Scorecard methodology to develop objectives, key performance indicators (KPI), strategies and actions that are aligned with the company's mission and vision. organization to solve the main operational problems during the mining cycle of CIA MINERA CASMA. In addition, the application of this methodology allows the use of KPIs from the point of view of the financial perspective, learning and development, the client and internal processes, the latter being the one that covers the operational problems of the mining cycle in the mine. With the proposed methodology, it was possible to increase the following indicators: head grade, tonnage sent, % of work orders fulfilled per day, exploited tonnage, number of training sessions, level of performance, number of training sessions by 17.9%, 2.5%, 10 %, 19.8%, 100%, 23.7%, 100% respectively. On the other hand, it was possible to reduce the following indicators: average attention time of OC, OC due to urgency, cost of drilling and blasting, hauling cost, cost of supplies in 53.8%, 64.4%, 3.9%, 4.6%, 8.1% respectively.
