Over the years, the number of family businesses (FBs) has been increasing as a result of needs that must be met, for this reason the purpose of this professional proficiency work contributes to the analysis of corporate governance (CG) factors that affect management of an FB. In the present research work, the qualitative and explanatory method has been applied, allowing the development and contrast of the different positions of the different authors who provide relevant information to the subject. Likewise, it has been determined if factors such as the economic, gender diversity, CG structure and ownership structure influence the management of FBs. In this context, it was identified that there is controversy, since, for some authors, the economic factor is relevant, because this indicates the importance of using a strategic tool for the internationalization process, while for others it is necessary to take advantage of market opportunities and reduce possible threats to achieve internationalization. In addition, regarding gender diversity, it was verified if female participation influences the management of a family organization or if it is indifferent.
