Within the group of neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson’s disease is one that causes difficulties in the daily activities of those who suffer from it, since motor, physiological and psychological symptoms appear at different levels of intensity that alter their quality of life, such as dressing, bathing, move, among others. Although the medications used to treat Parkinson’s disease manage to relieve the intensity of the symptoms, they can also cause side effects and become less effective as the disease progresses. An outstanding characteristic of this disease is the loss of the person’s internal rhythm, which is evidenced by observing aspects such as gait, coordination of movements, and even speech. Faced with this situation, the established objectives were analyze the general concept of Parkinson’s disease together with the musical characteristic of rhythm and design an intervention proposal that combines musical and motor activity to benefit internal rhythm and, consequently, improve the gait movement of people with Parkinson’s disease. To achieve these objectives, an extensive review of research papers, articles, journals and sources in different languages has been compiled and analyzed.
