The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between orthorexia nervosa and weight control behaviors in female nutrition students from private universities in Lima. The sample consisted of 122 students between the ages of 17 and 22 who were studying between the first and twelfth year of the degree. An online survey containing informed consent, sociodemographic data, questions from the TOS scale (Teruel Orthorexia Scale) and the Project EAT-III Survey check list was conducted. Orthorexia nervosa (ON) was found to be negatively correlated with the healthy weight dimension, although this relationship was not significant. However, it was observed that ON has a positive and significant relationship with unhealthy weight control behavior and with extreme weight control behavior. These findings allow us to verify the importance of conducting new studies on orthorexia in order to properly identify it and foresee repercussions on the mental health of future professionals in the field of nutrition.
