Since ancient times, the design of the roads has been a priority for vehicular traffic, which has caused a considerable loss of public space. Therefore, the accessibility of pedestrians has been hindered for their development within public spaces and potential conflicts with the vehicle have become recurrent. This has generated greater interest in pedestrian behavior in the area of Engineering, since in recent decades pedestrian models have been proposed with different levels of detail to solve the problems mentioned above. For this reason, this research has focused on analyzing the behavior of people who pass through an intersection within the Historic Center of Lima. The methodology used to achieve the objective begins with identifying the behavior of pedestrians, analyzing their flows together with that of vehicles, and after that, analyzing their speeds and travel times. All these data allow us to build a microsimulation model, for which the Vissim 9.0 and Viswalk 9.0 programs. Finally, a comparison was made between the results of the real microsimulation and the proposal, where it can be seen that the average waiting time after the intersection decreased from 3.13 s to 1.18 s. In the case of pedestrians, it was observed that the average density of the proposal improved by 50%, from 0.06 to 0.03.
