The clothing textile sector is the most important manufacturing activity in Peru with 16.5% of the companies dedicated to clothing manufacturing. However, the increase in the demand for clothing has created a high competitiveness in the sector related to the agility to meet orders, which generates problems within the production flow which affect productivity. For this reason, this research studies the factors that increase productivity in the sewing area of a textile company, which generates operating cost overruns in production and non-compliance with customers. In the analysis carried out, deficiencies were identified in the planning of raw materials, lack of quality control and work under non-optimal conditions, which directly affects global productivity. Based on the aforementioned, the proposal of an improvement model was shown, which considers the application of Lean tools, the redesign of jobs considering the factors that worsen operational efficiency and the modeling of a supply plan (MRP), all this under a continuous improvement approach based on the Kaizen methodology. Finally, a pilot model is applied where it is possible to validate the increase in productivity by 20%, which can increase as the learning curve and the applied methods are adapted. This new proposal for an industrial solution will ensure that companies belonging to the textile sector achieve greater competitiveness in the market.
