This research aims to evaluate hydrometeorological network of Rímac River account, in order to determine optimal number of rainfall stations and their location. Improving network is essential to obtain accurate data on meteorological phenomena. Having accurate information will allow make better decisions regarding the use of water resources and investigations of natural phenomena associated with Lima region. At the beginning of the investigation, we evaluated the current hydrometeorological network; taking into consideration the number of rainfall stations, hydrometric stations, their locations and their characteristics. Then, hydrometeorological network design methods were applied, with which graphical functions of “Error vs Number of stations“ were obtained, in order to know the precision and / or reliability of data collection of the current network and the optimal number of stations. Finally, the Kriging geostatistical method was applied to the network of stations in Rímac River account, which generates as a result precipitation prediction maps and data collection errors; In addition, it allow to knows the areas where it is necessary to install a new meteorological station.
