In Peru, the construction sector index in Lima continues to increase every year, which is why projects are increasingly demanding in terms of planning and productivity. Most construction companies base their planning on the Critical Route Method (CPM), however, this method has many limitations, therefore, they use auxiliary management tools to meet the needs of production equipment, over time of execution and with the best use of resources. The Location Based Management System (LBMS) management tool focuses on compressing durations and improving resource efficiency through real-time production control. The LBMS focuses on the use of Balance Lines that allows visualization in a graphic and simple way to interpret in comparison to the CPM. This research seeks to optimize planning and productivity in multi-family buildings through the LBMS to achieve reduction in project execution times, increase in production rates in workflows, decrease in variability and improvement in making decisions between the interferences that may exist between activities. Three case studies were taken in which the incidents of the problem regarding planning and productivity were identified, after the lessons learned, the LBMS tool will be implemented to a project.
