In this paper we seek to know the relationship between social valuation, the desire to make experiential trips, avoid rituality in travel, the creative capacity in the choice of activities and the affective response with tourist consumption. The study population is made up of young people between 25 and 35 years old who live in zone 7 of Metropolitan Lima and travel to the interior of the country. Part of the research work was developed based on the domestic tourism sector, one of the factors that impact the country’s economic growth. During this last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic this sector has been hit hard by the ban on tourism activities, it has caused a significant decrease compared to previous years. Considering the current situation of this sector and the relationship between the variables mentioned above, the aim of the study is to enhance internal tourism through recommendations that are useful to tourism services and thus be able to reactivity activities new ways of understanding a potential consumer. To this end, a qualitative analysis was carried out using the focus group technique through two in-depth group sessions. On the other hand, a quantitative analysis of 300 virtual surveys was carried out to determine the relationship of dimensions with tourism consumption in young people. The analyses described above conclude the existence of correlation between the variable of tourist consumption with the dimensions of social valuation, experiential travel, avoid rituality and creative capacity. In addition, there is no correlation with the dimension of affective response. In summary, the most significant finding is given when analyzing the correlation with the variable of tourist consumption, having as a result that four of the five variables have a greater significance with the variable of tourist consumption, except for the affective response variable. Likewise, the variable with the greatest positive correlation is social valuation, concluding that young people tend to value more the experiences offered by being within a social group.
