Advertising with responsibility and social commitment is a very important resource that many companies resort to in order to achieve their commercial and communication objectives, managing to convey a purpose and develop a closer link with the consumer, generating added value for brands. Oncosalud is a company dedicated to cancer treatments and makes use of this resource in its campaign “Help us make breast cancer disappear.“ All this, to highlight the seriousness of breast cancer, one of the deadliest diseases for women in Peru and the world. This research is positioned in the phenomenological paradigm with a qualitative approach and phenomenological design. The sampling was non-probabilistic, snowball and purposeful. Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with female breast cancer survivors. As a result, the interviewees have high expectations about advertising about breast cancer; For this reason, they expect brands to develop their messages in the most transparent way possible. In conclusion, the experience of cancer patients makes them see the disease from a more real perspective and they hope that this will be captured in advertising.
