This study arises due to two situations of great importance today. First, the expansion of clickbait within digital journalism in social networks that is adapted from classic media such as television or radio. And second, the importance of transmedia literacy today due to the great advance in the digitalization of the world with the COVID-19 pandemic. It seeks to analyze through transmedia literacy how the Peruvian audience behaves in the face of the use of clickbait in adapted digital journalism during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was raised through a qualitative methodology and an interpretive paradigm. A digital ethnography technique was used in which the behavior of the audience in the debate and interaction in the Facebook posts of the journalistic companies Willax and RPP was analyzed through transmedia literacy. The research focused on two aspects. First, to analyze how the clickbait composition of Willax and RPP can cause different reactions in their audiences. And second, the form of debate and interaction that clickbait generates in the comments of the publications. Finally, it is concluded that clickbait in adapted digital journalism is not an inherently harmful viralization strategy. However, it can become a serious problem by joining the fake news. These allow you to have a great influence on the audience. Influence that is enhanced in Peru since a large part of its population lacks transmedia literacy.
